Welcome to the Mount Batten Centre, the South West's premier waterside venue specialising in sailing, watersports and adventurous activities in Plymouth, a historic and vibrant maritime city in south Devon.

Enhance you healthy lifestyle, breathe in fresh air and escape routine while invigorating your senses. Learn new rewarding skills and gain qualifications both on a recreational and educational level. We offer the following courses:

We are an accredited AALA (Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority) Centre, teaching on the land and sea, this demonstrates that safety comes first. We are also a nationally recognised RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centre offering certified courses in sailing, windsurfing and powerboating from beginner to experienced.

Our instructors are highly dedicated, experienced professionals who ensure you really get the most from your experience whether it is recreational, educational or building self-confidence and a healthy outdoors lifestyle. All activities are taught to governing body coaching ratios.

Wetsuits, windproofs, buoyancy aids and helmets are available for courses that require them - please check when booking. All activity guests enjoy access to our changing facilities and hot showers. Getting on the water could not be easier with two slipways and our own pontoon giving access at all tides.

We have a large fleet of craft. Sailing dinghies include Laser Stratos, Omega Topper, Laser 2000, Laser 1 and Pico, multihull Dart 16 Catamarans, Hawk 20 keelboats and new J80 sportsboats. This is backed up with an extensive range of 4-6m RIBs all with Marina 4 stroke outboard engines. We also have an excellent range of kayaks, canoes, and sea kayaks and access to the local climbing wall.

For corporate use, we have a range of inspiring conference suites, tailor made team builds and away days. We are also open to the public all year round, so enjoy our relaxing lounge bar, refreshments, lunch menu and overnight accommodation - the perfect excuse to extend your stay!
