For the 3rd Year running over 180 school children from across Plymouth participated at the Mount Batten Special Educational Needs Regatta. Working in partnership with Woodlands Projectability School and Plymouth City Council Sports Development unit the centre delivered a varied and active programme with children participating in Gig rowing, Keel boat sailing, Canoeing, Bell-boating, Powerboating and sightseeing tours onboard Spirit of Plymouth. Katy Wedgewood PE Co-ordinator commented "Once again this event has proved to be an outstanding success with unamous feedback from both staff and participating students that they can not wait for next year's event! Personal highlights for me was seeing children get afloat who probably never even imagined that they would be capable of rowing a gig or paddling a canoe. The centre's instructors were superb at encouraging the students and delivering action packed fun sessions" . We thank Katy for her kind words and look forward eagerly to next years event!
