On Wednesday 9th March from 8am until 9.30am, we are hosting our first Waterfront Business Networking event.
If you own, manage or are employed at, a locally based business and would like the opportunity to meet and network with other like-minded businesses in a relaxed environment, then we'd be delighted to welcome you to the Centre.
The networking event costs just £5 per person to attend and includes a bacon roll and tea or coffee.

Duty Manager (night shift)
£7.20 - £7.50 (depending on experience)
(Includes working weekends and Bank Holidays)
Normal shifts between the hours of 22.00 and 08.00
Short term contract March – September; 20 hours average per week.
Now a Charity Trust, we are looking for a confident and reliable Duty Manager to oversee our night operations. The Mount Batten Centre runs all year round and changes with the season, therefore you would be required to work at weekends and Bank Holidays. Throughout the year we offer residential stays at the Centre.
As the Night Duty Manager, the post requires you to be diligent and responsible in ensuring the site is opened and closed securely, in adherence with our operational procedures, this includes hourly patrols and use of a CCTV monitoring system. You will also be responsible for ensuring that in an emergency situation the building is cleared in a safe and efficient manner, including ensuring emergency services are contacted as required, and fully completing reports to a high standard.
You role required you to work comfortably alone and you will be required to complete tasks which may include:
• Maintenance and cleaning
• Administrative tasks and Reception duties
• Handling money
• Check and signing for goods in
You will also be responsible for assisting the Centre Manager in the Health and Safety Management of the Centre. As the Night Duty Manager you will required to control access for our residents and visitors and provide a high level of customer service when responding to enquiries and requests.
We are looking for an individual with the following attributes:
• A-Levels or equivalent and passes at GCSE standard in English and Mathematics
• Experience of working in an customer service environment
• Night work /security/hotel experience
• Computer Literacy
