Summer Sessions

We have adapted our programme to offer activities which reflect the world situation we’re all currently living through. You now have the option of choosing a private session for a family or household, or join a mixed session with persons from different households but where social distancing will be in place throughout (maximum of five customers in any group and one instructor).

Initially sessions will be delivered in Sit-on-top Kayaking, Stand up Paddleboarding and Giant Stand up Paddleboarding (for same household/family sessions). We can also provide 1:1 and 1:2 personal coaching in sea kayaking.

We hope to be able to add further activities in due course once further guidance from HM Government has been issued.

Terms and conditions - please read before booking your sessions:

As we're sure you can appreciate we have introduced several changes to ensure both client and staff safety.

  • A minimum 2m distance will be kept between the instructor and participant at all times, where possible. Around the Centre signage and markings will be in place to assist with distancing
  • All sessions will be a maximum of 5 persons plus the instructor, we will also stagger session times to minimise overcrowding
  • All payments are online and in advance of the session, with all participants submitting full medical details and contact information. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-in bookings or cash payments at this stage. We will be asking for details of all participants to assist the NHS Track and Trace service if required
  • We will provide everything else needed to get afloat including buoyancy aids, spray tops and kayak/Stand Up Paddleboarding equipment which will be cleaned before and after the session. Please note that as a temporary measure we are introducing an upper weight limit of 120kg or 18 stone for participants. Participants must be able to be accommodated in our largest buoyancy aid.
  • There will be no access to our indoor changing or showering facilities - there will be limited toilet access and bag storage so please only bring essentials with you. Please arrive in beach wear and a large towel with all changing to take place outside. We cannot assist children with fitting into wetsuits or buoyancy aids so parents/guardians must assist in this process
  • We have introduced a new hygiene regime; your instructor will ask you to sanitise your hands before starting the session and we will be cleaning equipment and vessels rigorously between sessions
  • In the event of anyone in your group requiring first aid we will make our first aid kits available and give as much guidance as we can for you to help each other.  As a last resort, our first aiders will apply personal protection equipment for themselves and the casualty if required to intervene
  • If strong winds are forecast which will increase the likelihood of our instructor needing to offer additional assistance we will reschedule activities at no extra cost
  • Finally please be respectful of the steps we have put in place, our staff members and other clients. Individuals choosing to not comply with these steps will be required to leave the activity session
