We are delighted that Shekinah will be undertaking a series of groundworks and decorating around our waterfront site for the foreseeable future. The two city charities have worked collaboratively on events and fundraising efforts previously.
The Shekinah team have been on-site this week and between weather windows have been able to make a start on painting the buildings.
Alex King, Centre Director of the Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre said:
“As we’re sure many can appreciate during these past twelve months our own team have had restricted access to the Centre too which has meant we haven’t been able to maintain the Centre as we usually would. As we return to business ‘as normal’ and with a busy summer series of events planned including on and off-shore support for SailGP and the RYA Youth Nationals, we’re delighted to be working with, and supporting, Shekinah, who will be doing ground works and maintenance around the site.”
Andy Kebby, Community, Events and Enterprise Manager added:
“Shekinah are very proud to be working in partnership with another charity in the city who have found the last year extremely challenging. Shekinah looks forward to completing works on the Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre so it’s ready to welcome people from all across the world during their large-scale events this summer.”
The Centre has recently signed up to the city’s Resurgam Charter and by doing so are committed to ensuring, where possible, procurement spend is local.
